'Bistronomy' Cookbook Offers 100 French Bistro Recipes

If you love French bistro cooking then you may want to consider adding Bistronomy to your cookbook collection. In this unique cookbook, author Katrina Meynink offers a fascinating compilation of 100 bistro recipes from 30 international chefs.

The book is the result of a grant Meynink received from the Culinary Institute of America back in 2012. This allowed her to study bistronomy - a term that blends 'bistro' and 'gastronomy' and commonly refers to French casual dining (in other words, Michelin-quality dining without the white tablecloths).

Bistronomy highlights Meynink's findings and offers recipes, menus and compelling stories about her journeys. The dishes come from all corners of the globe - from Paris and London to Copenhagen, New York, Sydney and beyond. 

The cookbook "captures the vital elements of Bistronomy - the democratic spirit of generous, affordable hospitality, and the imaginative reworking of classic fare built on quality ingredients and technique," according to a description by the publisher.
