3D-Printed Signature Dishes of Legendary French Chefs

French magazine Fricote has run a special series featuring 3D-printed dishes of French culinary giants Alain Ducasse, Michael Bras, Pierre Hermé, Paul Bocuse and Jean-François Piège.

Each signature dish is accompanied by a 3D-printed bust of each legendary chef, the perfect blend of haute cuisine and playfulness. The series was produced with the help of Leblox and the art direction of William Roden and Richard Banroques from WAF Agency.

Called Statues d’Auto-Entrepreneurs, the 3D series depicts Ducasse's exquisite black truffle soup and Hermé's delectable Isaphan, a rose macaron biscuit with rose petal cream, whole raspberries and lychee, among other famous dishes.

In recent years, 3D food printing has made giant leaps. Technology has allowed the creation of not just these fun 3D chef dishes but also things like pizza for astronauts, mushroom chairs and even chocolate. Check out the top 3D-Printed Food Designs of 2013.
