London Has a New Wine Delivery App

Running out of wine of an evening and having to opt for an inferior drop from the local shop is a sorry situation many of us will have experienced. But now Londoners need never endure a bottle of throat stripping cheap plonk again, with the launch of a new wine delivery app called Drop.

The booze-laden knights in shining armour are Ian Campbell and Will Palmer, who also run a wine bar in London’s Covent Garden called 10 Cases. It works like this: users can get wine delivered via the app between 12pm and 12am, at anything between £7.50 and £100-plus a bottle. There’s no minimum order and delivery is free if you’re willing to wait two hours or more, £1.50 for an hour and £3 for ASAP (we suspect this last wine home delivery option will be very popular).

According to Metro, Campbell and Palmer “claim to never buy more than 10 cases of any wine or list the same wine twice” and will be extending that philosophy to their wine delivery app. They will also be offering accompanying snacks like charcuterie, cheese and smoked salmon. There will be 150 carefully selected wines to choose from, all delivered by electric bicycle.

Drop will be available on IOS and Android from late October 2016.
