Wine lovers are always seeking new ways of experiencing wine. One of the ways to make wine more intimate is to visit a vineyard. To make that visit even more exciting, a wine maker in Chile has built a tower that offers a bird's eye view of the vineyard.

Situated in the Central Valley, Maule Vineyards Home offers visitors the unique experience of climbing atop their gorgeously designed timber tower to catch a stunning view of the Chilean country side. The tower is large enough for guests to enjoy a picnic along with their glass of Malbec.

The winding tower was designed as a thesis project by Carlos Jarpa, a student at the Escuela de Arquitectura Universidad de Talca. The lovely structure was built of pine, which is a wood flexible enough to mold into the particular design Jarpa was aiming for. The tower hides a ladder located in the center.

South American wine, primarily from Chile and Argentina, has been gaining traction for some time. Although considered 'new' wine by some, the wine tradition in those countries stretches back as far back as the 16th century with the arrival of Spanish conquistadors.
