Prosciutto di Parma. Pancetta. Mortadella. Soppressata. Capicola. Speck. Culatelo. If the mere mention of these Italian cured meats makes your mouth water you can't miss a stop at the Museo della Salumeria on your next trip to la bella Italia.

Italy's first museum dedicated to all thing salumi - the Italian word for cured meats - is a feast for the eyes. As visitors make their way through the three-story building they'll see different meaty delicacies on display while learning the history behind every varietal.

One of the highlights of the museum is a special area dedicated to the herbs and spices used to give each cured meat its unique flavor. The museum is in the same region as Massimo Bottura's famed restaurant Osteria Francescana so you can whet your appetite at the exhibits then swing by Modena for a Michelin-starred dinner.
