Tukeys, steamed puds and Christmas drinks - a round up from Taste of Christmas 2011.

The Taste events bring together a number of vendors offering quality produce in varying styles and this year's Taste of Christmas was no different. Guests were able to stroll between hundreds of different produce stands selling seasonal and Christmas related food and drink. Here's an FDL round up of some of the best picks from this year's event:

Kelly Bronze turkeys
If it's a superior bird you're after this year then Kelly Bronze turkeys are the one for you. Produced, reared and bread by the Kelly family on their farm in Essex, and with over 25-years experience and multiple awards for their ethical and organic approach to rearing their birds, Kelly Bronze turkeys are one of the best around - Just ask Jamie Oliver. He gives the business a glowing endorsement: «Paul Kelly's Kelly Bronze turkeys are the best of the best!! and the most joyful treat for Christmas. Xmas wouldn't be Xmas without a Kelly Bronze turkey»

Georgie Porgie puddings
Offering traditional steamed puddings the Goergie Progie pudding company is the brain child of George Hollywood who at only 18 years old decided there was demand from people who wanted to enjoy steamed Christmas puddings all year round. With Christmas pudding, toffee and treacle sponges and even a spotted dick offering these traditional and hearty puds are great for Christmas dessert.

Drinks
There were a variety of Christmas drink suggestions at the festival with Goldschlager displaying their new cinnamon schnapps drink with real gold leaf. But the pick of the christmas drinks was Duchess's Sorrel a company who make alcohol free liqueur for drinking and cooking, offering great Christmasy flavours packed with cloves - unfortunately they don't have a website but they are certainly one to keep an eye open for at any up coming food festivals.

Why not give FDL some of your Christmas tips as we want to know who your top Christmas food producers are?
