London is making waves when it comes to Japanese cuisine. Last year saw only two new restaurants awarded two Michelin stars in the capital, both of them Japanese: The Araki and Umu. That's not to mention the ripples that Jason Atherton's newly opened Japanese venture, Sosharu is making.

When it comes to sushi places, there's no exception, with the world class restaurants being as good as it gets outside of the Land of the Rising Sun. Here are some of our best sushi restaurants in London, from buzzy West End contemporary restaurants to intimate Michelin starred dining in Mayfair.
