Calling all foodies! The 2012 Taste of Joburg - aka Johannesburg to non locals - has kicked off. It's a three day feast packed with innovative dishes, drinks and an opportunity to discover new flavors.
The 6th edition of the event, which is sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, will be held at the Montecasino Outdoor Event Area until the 30th of September.
Fourteen of the city's most renown chefs will showcase their signature dishes. Participating chefs include Marthinus Ferreira from Dw eleven-13, Andrew Atkinson from Piccolo Mondo at The Michelangelo and Coco Reinarhz from Sel et Poivre and Le Petit Sel.
This year's new addition to the festival is the Taste of Joburg Pop-Up Restaurant where guests will be able to taste dishes made by visiting chefs. Add that to the award-winning wines and premium drinks served at the festival and you've got yourself a major food party.
