The Sixth edition of the S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino 2012 begins on the 15th April to 20th May. Taking place in Ticino, one of Switzerland's most beautiful cantons, the event will host nine dinners, three lunches, two special fish dinners, lounge events and all including over 20 of the world's best chefs.
The event brings together some of the biggest culinary minds with the best restaurants from Lugano, Ascona and Mendrisio acting as a stage for chefs from all over Europe to show off their skills and talents in the kitchen.
The concept is that the best restaurants and hotels in the canton play host to world-renowned chefs visiting from all over Europe. Each year a different theme is chosen for the event, while last year it was 'gourmet made in Switzerland', this year the focus will be on young European talents with the Ticino chefs, pictured above from left to right, Marco Ghioldi, Luigi Lafranco, Andrea Bertarini, Dario Ranza, Rene Nagy and Ivo Adam, hosting young and highly skilled chefs in their restaurants.
The young talent are from a high caliber stock of European cuisine with around 5 Michelin starred chefs between them. Diners will be able to sample their food during a special lunches prepared by the young chefs and hosted across a number of local restaurants. Wines, foods - sight and smells will all reflect the terroir of one of the most stunning cantons of Switzerland.
The event culminates with a special dinner at the Grand Hotel Eden in Lugano and all food on the closing night will be prepared by local chefs who will aim to show off their specialties and highlight top quality ingredients from the local area.
