LA Chef Conference Puts Mental Health on the Agenda

This year's L.A. Chef Conferencein association with Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino, in Santa Monica on Monday, May 20, is putting mental health at the heart of its agenda with an opending discussion entitled “Boiling Point: An honest discussion of mental health, wellness, and maintaining balance in the restaurant industry.”

Chefs like Daniel Patterson, who has already opened up about problems with depression in the industry,  Jeremy Fox, Richard Blais and Nyesha Arrington will use the platform to give a voice to the sustainability of the chef, a growing problem in the industry.

The wider topic of supply chain sustaibability will be tackled by farmers, fisherment, ranchers and producers in "Seriously Sustainable"

Meanwhile, LA's growing restaurant scene, which has seen the likes of Nomad arrive recently and Enrique Olvera soon to arrive, is the theme for a discussion panel with Will Guidara, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Dave Beran, and Aitor Zabala in: “Opening in L.A.: Expectations Vs. Reality.” 

Alongside the nine discussion panels there are several cooking demos, from break making to mixology, and a fours session workshop with with industry leaders on how to open a restaurant.

Lunch includes food from Tim Hollingsworth’s C.J. Boyd’s Fried Chicken and Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar.
