The Big Apple is definitely the place to be this fall. New York is playing host to handful of exciting food adventures, including Identita Golose and the forthcoming New York City Wine and Food Fair (NYCWFF) as well asThe Oyster Festival just outside the city. We have all the details you need below.
New York City Wine and Food Fair
New York City is gearing up to host the annual culinary extravaganza of the NYCWFF from October 15-18th. The event, which is sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, will feature some of New York's finest chefs along with a host of other celebrity chefs and food personalities.
This year's line-up includes food giants from across the country, most notably Dominique Ansel, the famed creator of the Cronut. There's also The Spotted Pig's April Bloomfield, celebrity chef John Besh, Dan Barber of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns as well as Lidia Bastianich and Alice Waters amongst many more.
Among the Food Network stars attending the event are Rachael Ray, Maneet Chauhan, Aarón Sánchez, Amanda Freitag, Jamie Deen, and Geoffrey Zakarian to name but a few.
Highlights from this year's festival include an exclusive intimate dinner with iconic Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez from Central, named No.1 in Latin America on the list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants, and US chef Matthew Lightner at the Park Lane Hotel on Saturday, October 17, 7:00PM and costs $250.
Also don't miss out on Dominique Ansel's Masquerade dessert party, an event described as a 'decadent masquerade party featuring whimsical and intricate desserts beyond your wildest dreams!'The sweet affair will be held at The Iconic Four Seasons Restaurant and costs $125.
With over 100 scheduled events there is a massive offering across the foodie spectrum, from signature tasting events and talks to a host of events under $100 and exclusive one off dinners.

If you're an oyster fan you'll be pleased to hear The Oyster Festival, returns for its 32nd year. This is one of the East Coast's largest waterfront festivals with more than 200, 000 attendees.
A family event the festival offers a fun mixture of live entertainment, Tall Ships, top-notch artisans, pirate shows, midway rides, and the iconic oyster eating and shucking contest.
And of course...the Food Court, where volunteer chefs and culinary pros work side by side, cooking and serving dozens of unique oyster, clam and other seafood concoctions along with traditional festival fare.
Don’t miss the Oyster Eating & Shucking Contest on Saturday, October 17th, at 2-3PM. Try and beat the record holder Rodney Dow who managed to shuck an amazing 22 oysters in a 2 minute shuck off finale.
