April in Milan means Design Week: While Rho Fiera Milano, is dedicated to the annual Salone del Mobile appointment from 9 to 14 April, the whole city gets design fever with the Fuorisalone (fring event) unfolding in the various design districts around the city.

DFOOD - Design about Food
For food lovers, DFood is the most important district of Design Week 2019. It's the first district completely dedicated to food design with events being held in 12 different addresses and involving more than 20 brands in and around via Paolo Sarpi.
A series of events related to the world of food and design are taking place around the context of consumption, the communication of nutritional, cultural, emotional, technical and sensorial values that influence packaging design. On Friday and Saturday there's also an aperitivo and showcooking and the DFood bar is open every evening.

In the Navigli district, at 28 Posti restaurant, chef Marco Ambrosino and designer Odo Fioravanti have partnered up once again for their Wizard of Oz inspired gastronomic experience; "No place like home".
Expect a 9-course gastronomic journey, alongside drawings by Luca Ruali, moving between "objects to eat and food to watch", explains Ambrosino, the 28 posti chef.
The menu breaks down the boundaries between food, design and words, where "the objects used as dishes explore the narrative function of design", comments Fioravanti.

THE OBLIQUE WORLD OF PROSECCO AT THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF MILAN
You eat (and drink) with your eyes. Foodies cannot miss The oblique world (Il Mondo Oblique) installation created by Mionetto in collaboration with NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts, inspired by the hilly landscape of Valdobbiadene, in homage to Prosecco Superiore Docg.
The installation forms part of the Interni Human Spaces exhibition, which will be open to the public until 19 April (opening times: April 8th-14th, 10-24 am; April 15-18, 10 am-10pm; April 19th , 10 am-6pm)
+ TASTE AT THE DESIGN, THE DISTRICT DIFFUSED BY THE YOUNG SPIRIT

Among the other unmissable initiatives during the Fuorisalone, is + Gusto al Design, a sort of "widespread district", with a focus on 20 selected design projects, creted by young people under the age of 35 and working in the food & beverage sector.
A collective exhibition is on in the Atelier space of Santeria until 14 April with five special showcases dedicated to young designers' work, in as many restaurants and circuit locations + Taste: from Ratanà in the Isola Design District to the Da I Gemelli Restaurant in the Brera Design District, from Enrico Bartolini Mudec in the Tortona area to the Pinch-Spirit & Kitchen in the Navigli area, to the Savini Milano 1867, in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
An ad hoc menu will be created chef Giovanni Bon at Savini Milano 1867 until 14 April, inspired by the geometric shapes of the design, including red rock mullet dish in crepinette, wild asparagus, goat's cheese mousse and chupito di melaverde, Plymouth gin and celery, inspired by the opera UFO by Imma Matera and Tommaso Lucarini from Tipstudio, which will be exhibited in the historic restaurant throughout Design Week.
FROM APERITIF TO ART: THE BAR TOUR WITH BRANCA
Throughout Design Week, the historic Milanese liquer brand Branca is organising a series of events in bars celebrating the apertivo ritual in a creative way. Visitors will have the opportunity to sip drinks based on Branca products, whilst admiring some works of the Branca Collection, exhibited on the premises, and participate in thematic ad hoc meetings.
12 April at 8.30pm, rendez-vous with live music and with Branca's temporary bar.
EMILIA4U: Taste Reggio Emilia in Navigli

In Via Corsico, a stone's throw from the Naviglio Grande, discover the Emilia4U event on until 14 April. An open-air photo exhibition showcases the excellence of the Via Emilia in 12 shots and, as well as a series of tasting routes in the bars, shops and buildings in the area.
It will also be possible to purchase typical products from Parma, Piacenza and the Reggio Emilia region, in the temporary store set up in the Jacaranda violin making shop, while in the Emilia Tourism Destination Market will be in the Oratory of San Giovanni Nepomuceno showcasing the finest foods from the region ranging from wines and salami from Piacenza to Parma ham, from the culatello of Zibello to the salami of Felino and from Parmigiano Reggiano to coppa from Parma.
Finally, several bars (RAL, Gastronomia Masseroni, Moos, El Cicinin, Elita Bar, Ugo, Luca and Andrea), will be offering apertivo in full Emilia style, with menus centered on typical products such as coppa, pancetta and Piacenza salami Dop, Parma ham, gardener and pickles, and wines from Emilia.
