World-Class Chefs Talk the "Future of Global Gastronomy" at Bangkok's BITE

In what is the first event of its kind for Thailand, chefs from across the globe will meet at BITE – the Bangkok International Taste Experience, a spontaneous gathering of world-class talent who will cook, feed and discuss the future of global gastronomy.

Some of the most recognised and celebrated chefs in the world will be in Bangkok on Tuesday 13 March, 2018, for the inaugural BITE forum, sponsored by Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino, in what promises to be an event like no other, bringing together notable culinary talent in a unique setting; created by Gastronauts Asia and supported and hosted by the five-star Mandarin Oriental Bangkok.

Among the illustrious international kitchen talent confirmed are a star-studded line-up, including the three-star Michelin chef Gert de Mangeleer from Hertog Jan in Bruges, Belgium; one-star Michelin chef Josean Alija from Nerua in Bilbao, Spain; one-star Michelin chef Cristina Bowerman from Glass Hostaria in Rome, Italy; Martina Caruso from Signum in Salina, Italy.

Local talent, too, will be well represented at BITE, including the two-star Michelin chef and winner for three consecutive years of the ‘Best Restaurant in Asia Award’ at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Asia, Gaggan Anand of Gaggan, Bangkok. Gaggan will also be joined by another local, two-star chef, Arnaud Dunand Sauthier of Le Normandie at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok; along with one-star Michelin chefs Thomas and Mathais Suhring of Suhring, Bangkok; one-star Duangporn 'Bo' Songvisava & Dylan 'Lan' Jones of Bo.lan, Bangkok; Fatih Tutak of The House of Sathorn, Bangkok; Thitid 'Ton' Tassanakajorn of Lu Du, Bangkok; Tim Butler of Eat Me, Bangkok; Arnie Marcella of Bunker, Bangkok; John Becker of Esenzi, Phuket; and Prin Polsuk, former chef of Bangkok restaurant, Nahm.

Posing the question, ‘What’s Next? The Future of Global Gastronomy...’ the chefs will present and argue their wide-ranging opinions in a moderated debate within a 5 x 15 format, introducing five chefs, each speaking for fifteen-minutes.

This will be followed by a 15 x 5 session in which all chefs will attend the stage for a group discussion, allowing time for questions from the audience, after which, guests will take a boat across the Chao Phraya River to the Sala Rim Naam Gardens for an exclusive champagne reception and a one-of- a-kind street food extravaganza dinner, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
