If you happen to be in Berlin this week, you can't miss the city's international film festival. Known as the Berlinale, the festival is celebrating it's 63rd anniversary.
The 10-day festival features hundreds of movies from around the world, including a series of food films that fall under the 7th annual Culinary Cinema of the Berlinale.
The theme of the Culinary Cinema is ''Dig Your Food-From Field to Fork,'' which aims to spotlight sustainable foods and urban gardening. The event will feature 16 films about food and the environment from Feb. 10-15th.
''If you want maximum freshness and pesticide-free foods, you should garden. If you want a green city, you may become a guerilla gardener and throw seed bombs. In Berlin, urban gardening has taken root...Gardeners are among us! As can also be seen in the programme of the 7th Culinary Cinema,'' festival director Dieter Kosslick stated in a press release.
Among the food films being exhibited are Slow Food Story, which details the 25-year history of the international Slow Food movement which has roots in Italy; Moo Man, the heartfelt story of a British dairy farmer; and L'amour de Moules, an artistic Dutch film about the curious life of mussels.
