The 2014 Budapest Christmas Fair Offers Holiday Food and Cheer

Traveling to Europe this holiday season? Then you can't miss the 2014 Budapest Christmas Fair, one of the most popular holiday markets in Europe.

From November 28th to January 1st, Vörösmarty Square will be turned into an outdoor stage with 122 wooden cottages filling the air with the enticing aromas of mulled wine, honey cookies, cinnamon and fir.

Visitors will get to sample delicacies like roasted chestnuts, traditional pastries and artisanal jams and honey from the region. That's not to mention traditional Hungarian Christmas dishes like stuffed cabbage, grilled sausage, pork knuckle and roasted goose thigh.

They'll be lots of great shopping - everything from ancient crafts and modern Christmas mugs to wooden toys and countless Christmas decorations. Traveling with kids? Don't miss a chance to visit the Magic Garden located right in the middle of the square.

One last thing: Santa Claus will make a special appearance at his cottage on December 6th between 15.00-16.00. So don't miss it!
