Natural oyster tastings at the international event dedicated to the world of fish and marine ecosystems.
Slow Fish, the sustainable fishing Expo organized by Slow Food is back in Italy at the Genoa Fair from 27-30 May, 2011. The guiding theme of the fifth edition is Small-scale fishers: A threatened species, with a special focus on lesser-known breeds fish and controversial species like eels and oysters.
The programme of the biannual international event dedicated to the world of fish and marine ecosystems includes debates, meetings, workshops and tastings focussing on issues linked to sustainable fishing and responsible seafood consumption.
Taste Workshops will include comparison tastings between oysters across Europe. The nations qualified for the final round are: Italy with oysters from San Benedetto del Tronto, Denmark with Limfjord oysters, Ireland with Galway Bay oysters, the Netherlands with various sources including the Oosterschelde and the Grevelingen, and France with two cru Breton: Rivière de Penerf and Golfe du Morbihan.
