Last summer, René Redzepi from Noma announced a major kitchen renovation after a decade of being in business. This video from the Culinary Institute of America gives the world a glimpse of just how much more awesome the Copenhagen restaurant has become.

You'll see the new 328-square foot kitchen features sleek plating and prep stations and huge spaces for for cooking. This is quite a departure from the tiny kitchen with four gas burners Redzepi and his crew of five had when the restaurant opened in 2003.

The video also showcases Noma's envy-worthy employee canteen outfitted with books, a coffee nook and plenty of space for research and relaxation.

Redzepi says all these changes contribute to the quality of his restaurant which ranked first in the world for three years before sliding to the second spot on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2013.

His idea is to step away from the ''steel cage'' of classic kitchens. ''We almost ruined our own trade by making it too tough, too macho. We need to change this. That's what we want to achieve somehow.''
