The Basque Culinary Center, considered by many the Harvard of the culinary world, has added two great chefs to its impressive advisory board: Joan Roca from El Celler de Can Roca (currently the world's best restaurant) and Mexico's number one chef Enrique Olvera from Pujol restaurant.
Roca and Olvera will join the board which is already composed of renown chefs from all over the world: chairman of the board Ferran Adrià, Heston Blumenthal, René Redzepi, Michel Bras, Gastón Acurio, Alex Atala, Massimo Bottura, Yukio Hattori and Dan Barber.
Every year, the BCC hosts a summit to discuss problems affecting the culinary industry. This time around Barber will host the members of the advisory board in New York on September 23rd and 24th. During that time Roca and Olvera will be inducted as members and will partake in this year's discusion of Seeds: Cultivaitng the Seeds for the Future.
At the moment, all eyes on Olvera and other Latin American chefs like Acurio and Atala. The world awaits to see how they will fare in tomorrow's inaugural edition of Latin America's 50 Best Restaurant awards to be held in Lima, Peru.
