Think you can open a bottle of champagne? Like to hear that pop as the bubbles start to fizz and that first whiff of the wonderful aroma fills the air? If you answered yea to the above question you're doing it all wrong, Why? Because if you open champagne correctly you shouldn't hear the pop.
In this useful video from Zagat they visit the Daniel restaurant in New York and spend time with the sommelier at the restaurant, Rajeev Vaidya. The Daniel restaurant has featured on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list for eight years and in 2012 placed 25 - an event sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
Vaidya shows them how to correctly open a bottle and serve a glass of champagne.
He explains a few great little tips and then shows a movie style way to open a bottle - certainly not to be tried at home.
