Ferran Adria has announced the opening of a BulliPedia Lab in Barcelona where a team of 80 researchers, chefs and techies will work on bringing to life his epic online culinary encyclopedia.
The BulliPedia Lab is located in a 5,905-square foot former textile factory and will open May 15th. It will be a collaborative space where universities, cooking schools and researchers can turn to for creativity, innovation and information on culinary history.
By creating the BulliPedia, Adrià hopes to capture every detail of the history of cooking and codify it in a way that is accesible to chefs, cooks and culinary students. Among the people helping him with this mammoth task is Eduard Xatruch, former cook at El Bulli, Adrià's legendary restaurant which topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list a whopping five times.
While it's unknown when the BulliPedia will debut to the public, El País reports it most likely won't be before 2017.
