Knives 101
The week began with a sharp look at an ordinary kitchen utensil cooks around the world handle every day: knives.
We turned to experts like Mark Bittman, food columnist for The New York Times and author of How To Cook Everything, for tips on how to select, store and use knives.
But the lesson didn't stop there, we also looked at different type of knives and where they are made. Should you buy a German or Japanese knife? Find out with our FDL guide to knives.
Hungry in St. Petersburg
From knives we moved on to explore the dining scene in St. Petersburg, a city some call the Venice of Russia.
The city's gorgeous waterfront and Baroque architecture perfectly complement the foodie scene. You'll find plenty of hipster hangouts and gourmet shops. We recommend the Beer Brewing Museum and the Chocolate Museum.

The Roca Trio
After our visit to St. Petersburg we turned our attention to Spain for an exclusive interview with The Roca Brothers, owners of El Cellar de Can Roca - number one on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
Watch the Jordi, Joan and Josep discuss their motivation, goals and exciting new developments. Here's the full video interview.
