The Iberian and Mediterranean Countries regional final of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2020will take place on 16 September at the Hotel W in Barcelona.
Ten of the best young chefs in Spain, Greece, Israel and Portugal as selected by ALMA culinary school, will face off in a live cooking competition presenting their signature dishes to the local jury of professional chef judges, Lucia Freitas (Spain), Fina Puigdevall (Spain), Enrique Sa Pessoa(Portugal), Ettore Botrini (Greece) and Yossi Shitrit (Israel).
The chefs will be tasked with the challenging job of selecting one finalist and their signature dish to will represent the region at the Grande Finale S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2020.

At a regional level there are four awards up for grabs:
S.Pellegrino Young Chef Award Awarded for each Region by an independent chef jury, and at the Grand Finale by the Seven Sages, this award is given to the chef who has unrivalled technical skills, genuine creativity and an exceptional, strong personal belief about Gastronomy.
S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility, voted by an internationally recognized voice on sustainability in food, for the dish that will represent the principle of socially responsible practises.
Acqua Panna Award, voted for by mentors representing 50 countries around the world, for the dish that will be the one that reflects the perfect connection between different cultures on the plate.

The fourth prize is the Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought Award, voted for by the online Fine Dining Lovers community, for the young chefs that best represent their personal belief within their dish.
