The Guardian newspaper is on the look out for the home cooks in their new weekly section called Cook which launches on the 12th January.
It's all part of the paper's search for their Home Cook of The Year and will involve their food writer Felicity Cloake test driving recipes submitted by readers. Each week will focus on a different theme with the winning recipes entered into an end-of-year contest.
Speaking about the new competition Cloake said: "Your great-granny's hastily scribbled biscuit recipe; that weirdly delicious thing you once made up on a bank holiday when all the shops were closed; your fantasy Masterchef-winning dish. I'm really looking forward to getting into the kitchen with a different theme each week to try the most interesting recipes."
But Cook is more than recipe testing with a 16 page printed pull out included in the paper that will feature columns on baking, booze, healthy and cheap ingredients, food agony aunts and a focus on special producers.
The new food segment will also be available on the Guardian and Observer iPad apps and Guardian Kindle app.
