Sea urchin, also known as Uni, is loved by chefs and features heavily on tasting menus around the world. The delicacy of the ocean has a strong flavour and a strange texture if you’re not used to eating it. For their latest taste tests, BuzzFeed has rounded up a group of American diners who have never had the pleasure of tasting urchin before. The video is shot head on as different people sample what many claim is a delicacy of the ocean, though you wouldn’t think that judging by most of their reactions. Take a look.
