How many cooking books are currently lurking around your kitchen? Surely, some are the very faithful guides to be used on special occasions; others contain hopeful ideas that will never be tried out. One of the biggest market for publishing houses, in 2006 cooking books generated $516 million dollars. The star publisher is Crown Publishing Group that has published all books for the Food Network Chefs. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that recent cooking books rankings seem to be strongly biased towards TV chefs, despite their restaurant recipes being at times difficult to reproduce in home kitchens.
