We've seen recycled bottles turn up as giant fish sculptures and self-portraits but now we've got good news for eco-friendly fashionistas. It turns out that Levi Strauss & Co. is turning recycled plastic bottles and food trays into jeans.

The jeans - which are made with a minumum of 20% recycled material, about eight 12 oz bottles per jean - will be part of The Waste <Less collection the company will launch in January. 

In a press release, Levi's reiterated its comittment to sustainable fashion. It joins the ranks of other companies that have created sustainable clothing out of edible sources like milk and wine.

Levi's plans to use over 3.5 million recycled bottles to make the jeans, which will be available for men and women. They will be sold from $70 to $130.
