The James Beard Foundation Winners were announced last night during the 25th Annual rewards ceremony. Figures from the whole American culinary scene attended the awards which are deemed by many to be the Oscars of food.

Best Restaurants went to Next in Chicago and the outstanding chef award was given to Daniel Humm from Eleven Madison Park in New York. The rising star chef of the year was given to Christina Tosi from the Momofuku Milk Bar in New York and Wolgang Puck picked up the Lifetime Achievement awards for his incredible contribution to American cuisine.

The awards, held at The Avery Fisher Hall in New York, were yet another glitzy soiree with some of the worlds best chefs in attendance. If you missed the event it can be seen again in the video below and here is a full list of the 2012 James Beard Foundation Award winners.
